Steps
-
Check Your AI Access
Go to your Plans page while logged in to confirm your current plan. Create, Collaborate, and Scale include Zight AI based on plan limits. If you are on Share, upgrade to a paid plan to use AI features. Trial users may also see AI during their trial.
-
Head to Your Settings
In the Zight dashboard, go to Settings → Zight AI to access your AI panel.
-
Customize AI Features
Enable or disable features such as Titles, Summaries, and Chapters. Click Update AI Preferences to save. These settings apply only to future videos.
-
Record a Video
Record your screen or camera as usual. Zight AI will automatically generate transcripts, titles, summaries, and optional Smart Actions once your video is uploaded.

-
Use Smart Actions
Click the Smart Actions tab on a processed video to generate a Step-by-Step Guide, FAQ, Bug Report, or SOP. Create includes 5 Smart Actions per month. Collaborate and Scale include broader Smart Actions access based on current plan limits. Export results into Confluence, Jira, Notion, or Zendesk.
-
Access and Adjust AI Settings
If you don’t want a feature enabled, open AI Settings and toggle it off. You can also adjust chapter generation and summary preferences here.
Use the To-Do checklist
After a supported Smart Action runs, Zight AI can create a To-Do checklist from the recording.
- Select a timestamp to jump to the moment the action was discussed.
- If you own the video, check an item when it is complete. Other viewers can read the checklist but cannot change it.
- Use the action menu on a row to Create ticket, Copy to clipboard, or Send via email.
Create ticket requires premium integrations and an enabled Jira integration. Copy to clipboard copies the to-do text so you can paste it into another tool. Send via email opens your default email app with the to-do and Zight link; Zight does not send the message for you.
If checklist generation fails, run the Smart Action again from AI Actions. If Zight AI does not find an actionable follow-up, the checklist may be empty.
Tips & Best Practices
