What Is a Troubleshooting Log?

A troubleshooting log is a simple way to keep track of the steps you take when something isn't working as expected. Think of it as a checklist or diary that helps you document what’s going on, what you’ve tried, and what happens next.

It’s especially helpful when:

  • You're trying to fix an issue on your own

  • You want to avoid repeating the same steps

  • You need to explain the problem to someone else (like a support agent)

Even if you're not super technical, a troubleshooting log can make things much easier. It’s not about using fancy tools — just writing things down clearly.
