Overview
Your workday goes fast, meetings get added, and remembering to hit “Record” shouldn’t slow you down! The One‑click Meeting Recorder automatically detects when you join a meeting and helps you start recording instantly, with no setup or extra tools.
Zight listens for meetings on popular platforms like Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams, then prompts you to record with a single click. It’s a smarter, simpler way to make sure important conversations are never missed.
Key benefits:
- Automatically detects when a meeting starts
- One‑click recording with no manual setup
- Records system audio (all participants) and microphone
- Works seamlessly with most major meeting tools
- Designed to pair perfectly with Zight AI for summaries and transcripts
How It Works
- When you join a supported meeting, Zight detects it automatically.
- You’ll receive a notification letting you know a meeting was detected.
- Click the notification to start recording instantly.
-
Zight begins recording with:
- System audio (all meeting participants)
- Microphone audio
- No webcam by default
- A short countdown so you can prepare
- When finished, click Stop or use the shortcut Cmd + Shift + 6 to end the recording.
Note: Recording does not stop automatically—you’re always in control of when it ends.
Supported Meeting Tools
Zight can automatically detect meetings on most popular platforms, including:
- Zoom
- Google Meet
- Microsoft Teams
Detection works for the majority of meeting scenarios on these tools.
Managing Meeting Detection
You can enable or disable automatic meeting detection at any time:
- Open Zight Preferences
- Go to General
- Toggle Auto‑detect meetings on or off
Disabling this setting will prevent meeting notifications from appearing.
Audio Recording Details
The One‑click Meeting Recorder uses System Audio Recording to ensure every voice is captured clearly—even when using headphones.

Meeting Notes (Coming Soon)
Starting with Mac version 8.7, meeting notifications will include a new “Take notes” option.
Notes are great for:
- Taking structured notes
- Using as a lightweight teleprompter
- Outlining talking points before or during a recording
With Notes enabled:
- A notes window opens alongside your recording
- You can jot down thoughts, action items, or talking points
- Notes are visible only to you
- Notes do not appear in the final recording
- Notes will later be used to power AI meeting summaries
This makes it easy to stay focused while capturing context for smarter summaries.
You don’t have to be in a meeting to use Notes!
To enable Notes manually:
- Open Zight for Mac (8.7 or later)
- Go to Record
- Toggle Notes on, which will open the panel
Troubleshooting
- No meeting detected → Make sure Auto‑detect meetings is enabled in Preferences.
- No audio from other participants → Confirm system audio recording is enabled and permissions are granted.
- Forgot to stop recording → Use Cmd + Shift + 6 to stop instantly.
- If issues persist, restarting the app or re‑granting system audio permissions usually resolves the problem.
