Overview
Captions enhance the accessibility and discoverability of your videos. Zight provides English transcripts for your videos and screen recordings, allowing audiences to read along or search through the video content easily. This feature is available on current paid plans — Create, Collaborate, or Scale — based on plan limits, or on legacy plans with the AI add-on.
Steps

Finish Recording Your Video
Once you've completed recording, you can begin the process to add captions and generate a transcription.

Access the Zight Viewer
Navigate to your video in the Zight viewer to begin the transcription process.

Request Transcription
Click on the Transcription option located below the video description box, then click Request Transcription.

Receive Notification
You will receive an email notification once your transcription and captions are ready.

Enable and View Captions
Return to the video in the Zight viewer to read the transcription and enable captions by clicking the “㏄” icon at the lower right corner of the video player.

Utilize Transcription for Navigation
Use the transcription feature to skip to specific parts of the video efficiently.

- Ensure your audio quality is clear to improve transcription accuracy.
- Regularly check your email for transcription notifications to enable captions as soon as they are available.
- Use captions to enhance video accessibility for non-native English speakers.
- Embed videos with captions in your help center or website to reach a broader audience.
Troubleshooting
- Transcription request not processing → Ensure you are logged into a Scale account or have a plan that has AI included (Create, Collaborate or Scale).
- Captions not displaying → Refresh the Zight viewer or check your email for the transcription completion notification.
