How do comments work?

Engage and interact directly on your shared content with our new comments feature! Now, both you and your viewers can spark meaningful discussions right where your content lives. Keep all your conversations organized, easily refer back to them whenever needed, and stay informed with notifications for every new comment. Let's dive into how you can make the most of this dynamic feature! Learn how to adjust these notifications.

How to Comment on Content.

You can add comments using the shared link provided to you.  Once on the viewer page, you will see an option to create a new comment as well as see any previous comments listed.

You can also tag your teammates in a comment. Type @ to mention someone. This will send them a notification that they’ve been tagged. 

If someone responds to a comment or posts a new comment, you will receive a notification in your email to let you know! 

I’m on a paid account and want to access my comment customization settings.

You have the option to enable or disable comments for all of your (or your team’s) content. You can do this by:

• Go to your web dashboard: https://share.zight.com/dashboard
• Click on ‘settings’ under your name
• Click on the ‘customize’ option and scroll down to the ‘comments’ section

Comment and react at a specific moment in a video

Video comments and reactions can be attached to the current playback position and displayed as markers above the video progress bar.

1. On a desktop browser, open the video and play or seek to the moment you want to discuss.
2. Add a comment from the Comments & Reactions area, or select a reaction. Zight records the current playback position with that feedback.
3. Select a comment marker to jump to that moment, open Comments & Reactions, and highlight the matching comment or comments.
4. Select a reaction marker to jump to its moment. If a marker contains more than one reaction type, use its arrow to see the reaction breakdown.

Note: Timeline markers are currently hidden on mobile. Older comments without a saved playback position, and comments on non-video content, do not receive timeline markers.
