Steps
Check Video Length
Longer videos may require more time to upload, especially on Windows. Ensure your video isn't excessively long or consider splitting it into shorter segments.
Adjust Video Quality
High-resolution videos take longer to upload. Try reducing the video quality, for example to 720p, to speed up the process.
Test Internet Speed
Ensure your internet upload speed is at least 5mbps. Use an online speed test tool to verify your connection speed.
Check Internet Connection Stability
A stable internet connection is crucial. Any interruptions may cause the upload to fail.
Resolve App Interruptions
Ensure the Zight app is running smoothly without interruptions to prevent upload failures.
Tips & Best Practices
- Ensure your device is running the latest version of the Zight app.
- Close unnecessary applications to free up bandwidth for uploads.
- Use a wired internet connection for more stable upload speeds.
- Consider uploading during off-peak hours to reduce internet traffic congestion.
Troubleshooting
- If your video upload is stuck in an uploading state, wait longer or restart the app and try again.
- If the upload fails, access the failed uploads folder on your device to retrieve the file.
- For Mac users, ensure the Rosetta Layer app is installed for M1, M2, M3 processors to prevent infinite upload loops.
FAQs
Q: What should I do if the video still won't upload?
A: Contact Zight support and provide them with the logs from your extension or app.
Q: How can I find the failed uploads folder on Windows?
A: Navigate to C:\Users\(Your username)\Documents\Zight\Failed Uploads.
Q: My video stopped on its own (Mac)
A: You may see your video suddently stop and a message "Stream was stopped by the system". This has 2 reasons: not enough storage space, or not enough memory available. For Storage, we recommend you to free up more space before your next recording. For Memory, you can close a few apps before your next recording.
